So sorry!

Whew. It has been awhile since I have posted! Sorry about that. Unfortunately, I still do not have anything exciting to post today either...bummer! Things are getting better at school. I now have one class of 28, one class of 14, one class of 19, and two classes of 30. Even though those 3 classes make me want to run for the hills, things are getting a LOT better. Luckily these kiddos seem to be pretty good kids for the most part and are manageable! Now, I'm not saying its perfect, but I am definitely getting used to it!

Things at home are good for the most part. Kailey is on again off again yucky feeling. Some days she has allergies, some days her tummy is upset, other days she is fine. Nothing serious, but enough to be irritating. It is that "do I call the doctor or not??" kind of stuff.

Makenna is growing bigger and bigger. She is a sweetie pie. She still will not sleep through the night. Most nights she only wakes up once, but I think she may be starting to teethe because a few nights this week she has been up 2-3 times. Blek! But again, we are getting used to it and it is manageable! (By the grace and mercy of Jesus!)

Kailey is saying all sorts of funny, sweet things these days, I just forget to write them down. I have also taken lots of pictures, but on my iphone! Whoops. I'm going to see if I can figure out how to upload them from my phone onto blogger, because my blogs are always better with pictures! On that note...here is a sneak peak at the girls' halloween costumes!

3 months old (late post!)

Makenna turned 3 months old last Wednesday! I am a week overdue! I remembered to take her pictures on the correct day, though!

Things Makenna is doing at 3 months old:

-Lifting her head pretty good. I am trying to really work on the tummy time to give her more practice!

-Laughing..mainly just at Kailey, but it is super cute!

-Sleeping most of the night. She usually goes to bed around 8pm, and wakes up at 4 or 4:30am, then goes back to sleep until 8am or so.

-Her daycare teachers say she is the best baby they have and that they wish all babies were as good as her!

-She LOVES her new toy bar on her carseat that her Aunt Allison gave her. I mean seriously, she would just stay in her carseat for as long as I kept pulling it to play music!

-She is now switched completely to formula. :( She is eating around 4-5oz per feeding, every 3 hours. (This one is kinda a bummer. I really wanted to nurse her longer, but with me going back to school it just wasn't working out anymore.)

She is a sweetie pie and we love her bunches!

My Classroom

I decided to change up my classroom theme this year. I was sick of looking at the same old curtains and bulletin boards. My mom was gracious enough to make me some cute curtains for my cabinets. I decided to cover my bulletin boards with black fabric, and then I did a black and white theme. I think it turned out pretty cute! I also wanted to give a shout out to my friends Lindsey and Leslie for giving me some really great ideas for my classroom this year! Here are some pics!:

This is my classroom library:

Here is the back bulletin board, which I change each season, as well as the charts I use for a reading competition between class periods:

First Week of School/70th Anniversary Party

Whew! It is the first week of school, and I am pooped! Yesterday it got up to 109 degrees and I had car rider duty for 30 minutes! I also have 122 students with 3 classes of 27 or higher! It is crazy! But, I wanted to go ahead and post about my grandparents'anniversary party. On Friday, we left to drive up to Oklahoma City for the party. The party was from 12-3 on Saturday. At 6:15 we headed back to Temple! It was a crazy trip, but it was a sweet one. My grandparents are celebrating 70 years of marriage, and they got to meet Makenna for the first time. Here are some pictures from the day:

Grandma King was the oldest person at the party (92) and Makenna was the youngest! (3 months tomorow!)

I'm still here!

It has been awhile since I posted last. (Well not really considering several of the blogs I read haven't posted in months, but it at least feels like awhile!) I attribute this lack of blogging partially to the fact that I got my IPhone4! Therefore I take most of my pics on it, and get on the internet on it, rather than my computer these days! But I LOVE it. It is just wonderful. :)

There is not a whole lot going on around here except that I am getting ready to go back to school. Boo. I start Inservice on Monday, and the girls also start back to daycare that same day. I shed my first few tears over that fact today, when I realized I was focusing on some things I am working on for my classroom rather than on them. I hate when my attention starts being divided between school and them. It makes me feel like a bad mommy. This summer I have only been thinking about them and what they need, and that is how I like it. :(

Makenna is doing well these days. She is a bit more content than she was at first, which is good. She weighs 11lbs 1 oz and is 22inches as of this past Thursday. Most nights we have been getting her to bed in the 9 or 10 o'clock range instead of 11 or 12, which is nice. She still wakes up around 3-ish but that is not too bad, because most of the time she will go back to sleep until at least 6am or so.

Kailey is finally potty-trained, with the exception of a few accidents here or there. I am just so thankful that she is mostly trained before starting back to daycare on Monday! What a tremendous blessing!

Well that is pretty much it around here. I will post pics of my classroom soon, because it is turning out super cute this year! And, next Saturday we are heading up to Oklahoma for my grandparents 70th wedding anniversary party, so I should get some good pics of that too!

I guess she watches me..

Last night was a pretty rough night with Makenna (she wouldn't go to sleep until 12 then woke up at 3 and 5 and then wouldn't go back to sleep unless we held her). Soo I am pretty tired today! I took my shower and was getting dressed, and when I came back into the bathroom, Kailey had gotten out my contacts and solution, my toothbrush and paste, and my comb! Those are the 3 things I do everyday when I get ready. It was so sweet! She is one observant little 2 year old!

Kailey's friends!

Kailey loves playing with other kiddos. Yesterday our good friends Matt and Erin Dugan came to town for a wedding, and we got to spend some time with them. Kailey loves their son Parker, and talks about him all the time! We took some pictures of them, even though that is always difficult!

Tonight we had a family church fellowship at Whistle Stop Park. It is this really cool park next to the train station. Kailey loves playing there. She also loves playing with Rhett! He is the son of our associate pastor and his wife. They had a great time. The loved the water sprayer, and sliding! They also tried some watermelon, and loved when the trains went by!
