8 months old!

Makenna turned 8 months old yesterday! It is so hard to believe how big she is getting! She has learned to do like 3 major things this month, so it should be an interesting post!

-She is crawling!
-She is pulling up!
-She can sit herself up now! (And she learned all 3 of these things within a week of each other!)
-She is eating 6 oz bottles, and lots of cereal, fruits, and veggies. She eats really really good, but when she is tired of eating, she spits it at us!
-She is FINALLY sleeping through the night! (I mean she won't now, since I posted this, but up until this point she has been for over a week now!)
-She loves to eat puffs and yogurt melts
-She loves to take baths with Kailey (in her little bath seat my mom and dad got her for Christmas. BEST THING EVER!)
-She is an adventurous little booger that is into everything! Yesterday she was in all my magazines, paging through them. So cute!
-She weighs 17 pounds exactly, as of 10 seconds ago! (Tiny little thing!)

Here are some pics!

Officially 29....and holding.

29 is like that magical "young" age that people who are well advanced in years claim as their "holding" age. I guess in that aspect, the fact that I will be 29 tomorrow should make me feel relatively young. In all honesty, I am still incredibly young, but it sure doesn't feel like it! As my co-worker put it today "you are beginning your 30th year".

Wow. Thanks. There went my 20's.

30 has been staring at me for quite some time now as this looming age of oldness. A lot of the time, I stare at 30 and think of it in a negative way, but I think that is just because I cannot believe that I will be 30 in 1 year! I mean, that is just crazy! But alas, I still have 1 year until "the event". In light of the fact that I am normally negative about aging, I have decided to write my top 29 things about turning 29, in order to show that I do indeed realize how very blessed I am to be the ripe old age of 29. :)

In no particular order:

1. I am not 30 :)
2. I am still the youngest of all the Williams' clan (well except for the kids, but I mean come on, my brother-in-law is 40, I mean that really is old!)
3. I have the most wonderful, giving, loving husband on the planet.
4. I have the best, funniest, most beautiful 3 year old little girl on the planet.
5. I have the sweetest, happiest, most beautiful almost 8 month old little girl on the planet.
6. I (we) have been a homeowner(s) for 4 years now.
7. We have hardly any debt besides our car and student loans.
8. I have a wonderful job with a wonderful school district.
9. I have all 4 grandparents still alive.
10. I have 3 sisters.
11. I have a set of parents who have been married for 31 years.
12. I have a swagger wagon. (Although really, the fact that I think this is cool, shows that I am kinda old!)
13. I have an I-phone.
14. I have been married for 7 years, which is basically an old married couple, which is incredibly comforting, and such a blessing.
15. I am healthy, and so is my family.
16. I have some great friends. (Shout out to my BFF Erin Dugan, whom I miss SO MUCH!)
17. I have a really cute dog who loves me even when I totally forget about her.
18. I have freedom.
19. I have a relationship with the Almighty God who never leaves me or forsakes me no matter how much I whine, complain, and forget to worship and bring glory to Him on a daily basis. (this should really be number 1).
20. I am still in my twenties.
21. I can still see at my old age.
22. I can also still hear at my old age.
23. I can drink Sonic Diet Cokes whenever I want.
24. I don't worry as much about if people like me, like when I was younger.
25. I have a college degree.
26. I am capable of paying my own bills.
27. I can do pretty much anything I want. No more age restriction birthdays to make it through. Well except for getting to the senior citizen discount age.
28. Did I mention that I am not 30 yet?
29. No curfew. Although, ironically, when you are this old, you really don't want to stay up past 10, and you definitely don't want to be out.

Well, at 1:08 tomorrow morning, Happy Birthday to Me!

And, I really am so thankful for my 29 years, and all the blessings God has given me!

Late Night

Well, normally I would be status updating and mindlessly stalking people on facebook right about now, but since I can't do that, I will just blog! Makenna is having a rough time going to sleep and staying asleep tonight for some reason. It is either because she has a bad diaper rash that hurts, or because she is teething, or because she has a stuffy nose. (At least I have it narrowed down! haha) But anyway, I can't get on facebook because I have decided to give it up for 40 days while I am doing the Bible Study A Call to Die by David Nassar. I have actually not ever done it before, even though it is kinda old school, and so far I am enjoying it.

I am hoping that 2011 will be a great year of change for me. I have gotten in a rut in a lot of ways, and I really want to break out of it! I'm hoping this 40 day Bible Study will kick start my Quiet times again, because I have not been consistent with them in...I really don't know how long, I am ashamed to say! I am also doing the Beth Moore Bible Verse Challenge, where I am committing to memorizing 2 verses per month for the whole year. My first verse, which I need to have done by the 15th is:

Then Jesus said unto his disciples, "If any man would come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life will lose it, and whosoever will lose his life, for my sake, shall find it. For whatsoever does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his life? Or what shall a man give in exhange for his life?" Matthew 16: 24-26

I chose this verse because I am realizing that I am becoming somewhat materialistic at my ripe old age of 28 (almost 29, gasp!). I am learning that I need to be a much better steward of our money, and we have set some financial goals for this year, that I am really excited about, and this verse just helps me focus on succeeding in those!

I am also hoping to lose about 50 pounds this year. So far I have lost about 3.4 pounds, with a long way to go! But, I need to lose the rest of my "Makenna" weight, plus the other 35 pounds I have gained since high school. :)

Hopefully it will be a great year of change, especialy in my sleeping habits. But of course, that depends on miss Makenna...

7 months old and Happy New Year!

Makenna turned 7 months old on Christmas Day! These pictures of her were taken about a week later though, due to our traveling! (She would NOT leave the sign alone!!) She is getting so old-acting, but is staying very petite!

Here is what Makenna is up to at 7 months:

- She can sit up by herself now
- She rocks on her hands a knees, she just can't quite figure out how to move all 4 at once!
- She is eating 6 oz bottles now about every 4 hours or so
- She eats cereal and fruit for breakfast, and we can sometimes get her to eat a fruit and veggie for lunch and dinner
- She is wearing a size 2 diaper
- She is still mostly in 3-6 month clothes, with a few 6-9 month outfits as well.
- Last night she slept from 10:30 until after I left for work! That was a first!! But, knowing her, it won't stick! :) She usually wakes up 1-2 times per night still.
- She loves to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse
- She loves to watch her sister
-She LOVES her jumparoo! She just jumps and jumps!
- She loves to sleep with a soft blanket pulled over her head
- She would rather chew on her socks than wear them!
- She has begun that fun baby babbling "da da da da da" and sticks out her tongue and blows at us.

On another note..

We celebrated New Years' Eve with our good friends, the Dugans. They came and stayed the night with us and we stayed up and played games and had a Mexican Feast. It was a TON of fun, and we really miss them living in Temple! :(
