SNOW, finally!!

I didn't think we were ever going to get any snow, but we finally did today! Unfortunately, for some reason (**cough, MONEY, cough cough***) I still had to drive all the way to school. It was snowing when I was on my way this morning, and 33 degrees outside. The kids were decent, but definitely very excited about the snow. It probably didn't help, that a lot of the classes were going outside, and I was actually trying to get mine to work!(B/c our principal said to "keep it as normal as possible"). The really fun part was when the power went out around 10:15. Parents started coming to get their students, and were unable to find them in the pitch blackness, and the office was unable to figure out where they were, because they couldn't use their computers with no power! Needless to say, the people who make the decisions on when to shut schools down for weather, should have to come sit in a middle school in the pitch black for 2 1/2 hours and see if they make us come on a day like this ever again! We finally got out at 12:45, though. By this time there were probably about 4 inches at least of snow accumulated. It was so pretty! We came home and then when we woke up from our naps we went outside to play in the snow and build a snowman! It was super fun!

(As you can see in these pics, there is not 4 inches. It didn't snow as much at my house, as it did at school. Plus it had kinda already started to melt!)

Weekend away

This past weekend we traveled to Shreveport, to visit with Casey's family. We went to say goodbye to Casey's Maw Maw, who is not expected to live much longer. It was a sad time saying goodbye to her, but we also had some fun times too. Casey's dad's birthday was yesterday, so we were able to celebrate with him by going to Ralph and Kakoo's, which is sooo yummy! We also went to the Boardwalk, downtown, which is basically like a really cool outdoor mall. It was beautiful on Saturday, so we had some fun doing that. We also got to help Casey's sister and her husband get ready for the new baby they are about to adopt, later this week. Here are some pics from our weekend:

On the way home, Kailey got to try her very first ice cream cone, which she loved! (Who doesn't?)

Mardi Gras

We may live in Texas, but as you know, the hubs is from Louisiana. So, we decided on Fat Tuesday to go and find us come King Cake. We couldn't find our favorite (cream cheese filling) but opted for cinnamon. It was pretty tasty. This was the first time we shared the Mardi Gras celebration with Kailey. She enjoyed the "Kee Cake" and the "neckace" (necklace) that we gave her.

First Prayer

Last night, we were about to pray before we put Kailey to bed. This time, Casey told her to pray. She closed her eyes, really tight, like normal, and then peaked at us through one eye, as if to say "what do I say?". So I had her repeat after me.

Dear Jesus
"Deah Desus"

I love you Jesus
"Yuh Yoo Desus"

Help us to have a good night Jesus
Blank stare..

Goodnight Jesus!
"goo nigh Desus!"

Amen
"Amen"

Then, the most precious part of all:

"Hug Desus??"

Oh, you want to Hug Jesus? I want to hug Jesus too but he is in Heaven. We'll hug him one day!

"Hug Desus??"

Sooo sweet!
