12 weeks and 30 years old

Well, I turned the big 3-0 last week. I'm still not quite ready to own up to it, but I guess I better get over it. I just feel so old! The good thing is that my husband made my birthday incredibly special. I am very blessed to have an incredibly thoughtful husband. The night before my birthday he made me a German Chocolate Cake from scratch(my new favorite cake)! On my birthday morning he went and got me breakfast (donuts, yum!). He then oh so thoughtfully shoe-polished my car with great big "30th Birthday" "Happy 30th Birthday", etc. He gave me a brand new phone case (which is pink and gray, super cute) and my favorite sour ribbon candy. For dinner we got to have 5-guys instead of the normal Wednesday night Chick-Fil-A. The best thing was though, that he told me I had to pack a bag and be ready to leave right when I got out of school on Friday. When I got home my mom was here, ready to take care of the girls, and Casey and I got in the car to head to our mystery trip. He got 2 of my favorite snacks (sushi-not raw, and fresh fruit) and stopped to get my favorite drink (sweet tea from McAlister's). We drove and drove, and finally about 7:30 arrived in Allen. We walked up to P.F. Chang's and our friends Marcus and Whitney were there to spend the evening with us! We had a great dinner and then went bowling at this really cool bowling alley. Casey booked a hotel room at a really awesome hotel (Hyatt Place) in Plano. The next morning he brought me breakfast in bed and then we went shopping. He knew I had been wanting some Toms, so he researched the stores in Frisco that had them! I picked out the ones I wanted, and then we headed to lunch at my favorite restaurant (Fadi's!). After lunch we met a couple other friends for cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory. Then he let me pick out a new purse from Vera Bradley! After this we jumped in the car and headed home. When we got back in town he took me to restaurant and had a surprise party for me! Like I said, I have a very thoughtful husband. So, even though 30 has been quite an adjustment, I am thankful I get to share my life with him and our beautiful girls. Now for what you are wanting to read about:

12 weeks
Size of Baby: A lime

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Um. 6 pounds. Can I claim Christmas and my birthday as a culprit?

Maternity Clothes: Who am I kidding. I'm in all maternity. It's pathetic.

Gender: We find out March 6!

Movement: Too early

Sleep: Still not great. I just have to get up a bunch to potty during the night. Tiredness is definitely my worst pregnancy symptom.

What I miss: My daily Sonic Diet Cokes!

Cravings: Sour candy or really just enjoying to eat. I feel hungry constantly. (hmmm 6 pound weight gain much?)

Symptoms: Fatigue; breast tenderness; gas; the constant need to potty. (TMI? Too bad).

Best Moment This Week: Going to the doctor and hearing that heartbeat again. I also had to see a nurse practioner, which is very common with my doctor. Usually I cannot stand seeing them, but this one was wonderful, so I feel really good about the appointments I have scheduled with her.

Misc:
No pic this week. I keep forgetting to stay in my cute outfits long enough to take a pic. Plus it is just pathetic.

Please continue praying for my friend Erin. Here is a link to her latest update on Graham.

10 weeks!

Yesterday I became 10 weeks pregnant. It is actually kind of confusing. I know for sure that I got pregnant on a Tuesday, and at the doctor the baby measured exactly 7 weeks on a Tuesday, but for some reason my doctor set the due date as August 8, which is on a Wednesday. Just in case you were wondering. If you weren't...oh well.

Size of Baby: A kumquat (yeah..I have no idea. I guess it's bigger than a grape?)

Total Weight Gain/Loss: No idea. I'll know after my next appointment.

Maternity Clothes: Well I still can't find my Belly Band, so I've had to convert to maternity pants. Then most shirts I have look stupid with the pants, so I wore a top today too which made me look enormous and ridiculous all at the same time.

Gender: We find out March 6!

Movement: Too early

Sleep: Still not great...but probably a bit better than last week. I just have to get up a bunch to potty during the night. Tiredness is definitely my worst pregnancy symptom.

What I miss: My daily Sonic Diet Cokes!

Cravings: Sour candy

Symptoms: Fatigue; breast tenderness; gas; the constant need to potty. (TMI? Too bad).

Best Moment This Week: Just knowing I am pregnant, and being thankful. There are a bunch of people who can't be pregnant and then several people who have lost babies recently, so I am just thankful for the blessing that God has given us.

Misc:
Here is a belly shot as promised: (Yes I know I am huge. There are various reasons I am huge, most of which are my own fault, but some of which are not. Either way, oh well.)

Prayer Request: This is actually not about my pregnancy, but instead about my friend Erin's pregnancy. I mentioned her a few posts ago. Her baby is due March 3, but will probably come sooner than that. At this point they are pretty confident that when he is born he will need kidney dialysis, if his lungs are developed enough to do so. They just need a lot of prayers for the baby, but also for them. They are trusting God, but their morale is definitely low and confused and scared. If you think about it, please pray for them.

I'm Preggers!!

Yup, that's right, I am pregnant again! This was a "surprise" pregnancy, but we are very excited. I always kinda wanted the third one to be a surprise, so here we are! I am due on August 8 (yet more evidence that it wasn't planned. I mean what teacher would actually plan to miss the first few weeks of school??). God is definitely showing us that He is in control and that we need to trust Him. I am scared about how we are going to afford daycare for this baby and how in the world I will entrust my classroom to somebody else for the first 3 weeks of school, but it is just making me rely on Him even more, which is probably why He has allowed this to happen! We feel so incredibly blessed to have our two girls, and so blessed that we are able to have another child! So, since this will be our "caboose" baby (unless God has other plans!) I am going to try to do all those things that I forgot to do with the other two pregnancies. The first one is that I am going to try to do a weekly update on the pregnancy like so many other bloggers I know have done. This week I do not have a belly pic, but from now on I will. :)

9 weeks!

Size of Baby: A grape

Total Weight Gain/Loss: No idea. I'll know after my next appointment.

Maternity Clothes: Well pathetically enough, I need to start wearing different pants already. I really just need to find my belly band, but I cannot find that sucker and Target didn't have any in my size! So, I actually had to wear maternity pants to work today, which made me look about 5 months pregnant!

Gender: We find out March 6!

Movement: Well supposedly I can't feel the baby this early, but I could have sworn that I felt flutters last night and this morning.

Sleep: Is it possible that this is already really bad? I already have to wake up to go potty 4 times a night, so I am not sleeping well, which is too bad because I am SO tired!

What I miss: My daily Sonic Diet Cokes!

Cravings: Sour candy

Symptoms: My boobs hurting; my constant need to potty; swollen inside of my nose; fatigue

Best Moment This Week: Telling my principal the news. I was SO incredibly nervous to tell her, since it means that I will miss thie first 3 weeks of school next year. It was such a God thing when I told her because she was probably more excited than anybody I have told to this date, and when I told her the due date and that I was worried she said "Oh, that is no big deal! Both my kids were due in August and September, so I missed the beginning of the year both times!" I could NOT believe that God answered my prayers in this way. It was the biggest sense of relief and peace and a very obvious way of God, once again, showing me that He is in control!

Misc.
-Here is our first ultrasound pic, taken at 7 weeks on the dot:

-Kailey says we are going to name the baby "Elmo".
-When we told Kailey we were having a baby she said she wanted a baby brother this time. When I told her the chances were highly unlikely and that God would decide, she looked at the sky, held up her hands and said "God, I want a baby brother!"

That is all for now! :)
