Elephants are big and grey

Kailey goes to daycare, as you know, and she is always learning all sorts of things. I have really enjoyed her being in the "toddler 1" room (with the small exception of that one diaper incident in Feburary) because she has learned so much and created some beautiful (in my non-biased opinion) artwork! Today, she brought one home that takes the cake. I looked at it and burst out laughing. It says " God made large animals. Elephants are big and grey". Take a look..I think she hit the nail on the head with her interpretation of an elephant!

SO FUNNY!!

Puddin' fun

Yesterday I was alone with Kailey for most of the day, because Casey had a friend in town and they were off playing golf (the longest round EVER I might add). Anyway, I was trying to get dinner ready and Kailey didn't want to eat hers so I was having trouble occupying her. I began to look through the fridge to see what I could give her. I decided to give her pudding, because I figured she could draw in it on her high chair tray. I definitely took all the necessary precautions ( shirt OFF, towell in lap, etc.). She had so much fun! And it was pretty stinkin hilarious to watch! Here are some pics!

TAKS Nightmare

I am sure all of you are tired of hearing me whine about the TAKS test. So, I won't whine. I'll just tell you about the nightmare I had last night.

It was the day of the Math TAKS, which is the day before the one I teach for. I am in my homeroom class, desks spread about, kids with booklets on their desks. The only thing that is odd is that they will not stop talking. I mean they are giggling and talking AND taking their test.

So I begin freaking out. I'm like "Be quiet! You are taking the TAKS test! You can't talk". "Seriously, be quiet".

They still won't so that is when I begin sobbing crying. I mean I am like hyperventilating I'm like "Mrs. Bunch has been teaching her heart out to get you ready for this test, BE QUIET!!!"

So then my principal and instructional facilitator come in, only to find a room of chaos and a crazy sobbing mess of a teacher who is saying " This has never happened to me before!! I can always get them quiet!! They just don't care!!"

End scene.

The only part that isn't true about that nightmare, is the part where they are talking. The rest of it could very possibly happen. The sobbing mess, the not caring students.

I will be so happy when this test is over. 1 week from Wednesday!

And, only 6 more week of school. Holla!

Casey's new blog!

Casey decided to make a blog and here it is!

Easter Weekend, Part Two

I had a lot of fun dressing Kailey up for Easter morning. My mom gave me this outfit for her, and I thought it was perfect! Kailey looks beautiful in blue because of her blue eyes. So since she was wearing blue and white, Casey and I did too. It was fun! Here are some pictures of our family on Easter morning:

We enjoyed Casey's sister and her family visiting this weekend too. I blogged when Kailey's cousin, Caden, was born last summer and he is 8 1/2 months old now! It was fun to watch them together. Kailey didn't really want to sit still on the stage for the picture below, but we somewhat got one of them together at church!

And finally, we had another Easter Egg Hunt in our yard after lunch. Kailey has gotten to be an old pro, and she is so cute to watch! She would get so excited when she saw an egg and would run over to it. One time she accidentally dumped out her basket and sat there and picked them all up. She definitely knew what she was doing. (She liked it so much that today she went and pointed to her basket, then grabbed it and ran over to the door "asking" me to hide them in the yard for her again!)

Easter Weekend, Part One

We had a wonderful Easter Weekend! It was soo nice to have 4 days to celebrate and relax! Casey's parents came in on Friday morning and left this morning. His sister, her husband, Kailey's cousin Caden, and Caden's sister Jade came and spent time with us, and then my sister Emily came to have lunch with us on Easter. It was really fun to celebrate with everyone.

Here are some pictures of us dyeing Easter eggs (including Kailey trying to eat a boiled egg with the shell on! She didn't really understand what was going on, and I didn't let her dye them because I didn't want her hands to be dyed for church on Sunday!)

Kailey got spoiled rotten by us, and her grandparents. My mom sent a package earlier in the week that Kailey loved that included two cute outfits, a dancing, singing bunny, a new white purse to go with her Easter dress, Easter eggs filled with money for her piggy bank, yummy snacks, and some really cute bows! Then Casey's parents brought her a colored spring purse, bunny rabbit, they bought her new clothes, peeps, a new bird feeder to watch birds outside, and probably more! Here is Kailey opening the package from her Grammy and PawPaw, finding her Easter basket yesterday morning, and with the bunny her Gran and Papa got her.

First Easter Egg Hunt!

Today was Kailey's first Easter Egg Hunt! We had so much fun! Our church has an annual hunt the Sunday before Easter. (The not so fun part was that it was like 30mph winds and felt like it was 35 degrees outside..hopefully we won't get sick!) Kailey got the hang of picking up the eggs and putting them in her basket pretty quickly. She even found one of the "golden" eggs, and won a Cd and book! She especially loved being able to run all over the place. She also found an orange easter egg that she grew very attached to. Here are some pics!
