Blessed

I feel like I am constantly reminded of just how blessed I am to have Kailey. I am so sad right now because one of my friends from high school just lost her baby. He was born on the 11th and passed away on the 13th. I am not sure if it was sudden or if they knew about it ahead of time, but either way, I can't imagine what they are going through.

Then, I was reading Angie's blog, like I do often, and one of her friends was going to adopt a baby girl, and the birth mother changed her mind, at the hospital! It just breaks my heart. It is just so sad. Everytime I turn around it seems like I hear another sad story like these.

Please pray for my friend and also pray for the other family that I don't even know. And also, hug all your babies and realize what a tremendous blessing you have!

P.S. Kailey is doing much much better now, just to update you on that! :)

Oh, so sick!

Just a couple of weeks ago I was thinking about how nice it has been that Kailey hasn't really been sick, ever. I mean she has had fever and a cold a few times, but usually I just took her to the doctor and he looked at me with pity as if to say "oh you poor stupid first time mother who doesn't know the definition of sick". Well this time Kailey is VERY sick. Last Wednesday she started coming down with a cold/cough and Casey is off on Thursday so he stayed home with her. By that night she was running a 99 degree fever so I decided to stay home with her on Friday and take her to the doctor. Well as usual, I took her to the doctor and he pretty much said "unless her fever gets higher or if she starts not breathing, she'll just have to work through it on her own". Well this weekend her fever got up to 103.8 so Casey took her in to the doctor again today. Last night she woke up every so often and you could tell she just felt miserable. The doctor took an x-ray of her chest and said that it wasn't RSV but it was pretty dang close. She also has an ear infection in her left ear. So, my poor little baby is on an antibiotic, a steroid, and she has to take a breathing treatment every 4 hours. Part of me is SO MAD that they wouldn't just give her meds on Friday! Anyway, keep her in your prayers because I feel SO BAD for her poor little body!

7x7 Prayer Button

Hey all, some of you may already read Angie Smith's blog. But for those of you who don't, she has started a really cool thing for her kids that I am going to start doing for Kailey. This is good for anybody who is a mom! She has come up with 7 scriptures that she prays for her children throughout the day everyday. It is just a really awesome idea that I think would be great for anybody to do for their kiddos! You can click on the 7x7 button on the top right of my blog and it will link you to her post, which lists all the scriptures.

11 months old and walking!

I ended up having to stay home from school today with Kailey because she wasn't feeling well. But, that didn't stop her from learning to walk! She has been very close for a week now. She would take a couple of steps but then give up. Tonight she started walking and she is soo proud of herself! It is so cute! So even though she has a horrendous cough and snotty nose, she learned to walk! Here are some videos to prove it!

Poor Paw Paw McCain

That is what I felt like, as I watched his concession speech last night. I felt like he was my grandpa and when he said "this is not your failure, it is mine" I completely burst into tears. I just don't want him to feel like that. I also pretty much couldn't handle Sarah Palin tearing up. I feel like she is one of my friends.

Now that I am done being pathetic, on to what I really wanted to post about. That is, I really have been pretty scared about Obama winning, today. I was in such a somber mood all day just really torn up and freaked out. Ya'll are my friends so you obviously know it is not because he is black, it is not even because he is a democrat. It is more than that. I can't help but feel like he is up to no good. I just feel like there is more to him then we have seen so far. I know many many people feel the same way I do. I feel like God has been so incredbily merciful on us, I just keep waiting on the bottom to fall out so to speak.

I just worry about what is in store for us. But then I remember that my God is in control. I completely relate to my friend Ashley's blog. Read it if you have time. She is so right, I just need to trust in Him. He allowed this to happen and either we are all freaking out for nothing, or something huge really is about to happen, and He will take care of us through it all. I hope for the former, but am preparing for the latter. The best way to do that is to not freak out and worry, but to trust in Him.

That is my political piece....and now I'm done!

Halloween

On Halloween, we had our annual pumpkin carving party. We usually don't have it on Halloween, but since our Fall Festival was at our church last weekend, this was the best weekend to do it. We had a good turnout and some really really good pumpkins! Here is a picture of Kailey all dressed up and then one of her on her way to school that day!

Here are some pictures of all the awesome pumpkins from our party!

Our favorite California Governor and star of "Kindergarten Cop"..

Some non-patterned beauties..

And last, but certainly not least, my wonderful political pumpkin. Take that you Obama signs on my street...

Rice Party

Kailey is getting to try all sorts of new Table foods. She is not strictly eating Table foods yet, but she enjoys trying whatever we have on her plate. One of her faves in restaurants is rice. The other day, we had some white rice here at home, so we put some on her tray. Let's just say, I guess she wasn't very hungry, because all she did is play with it. Well, mostly at least. By the time this "rice party" was over, she had it EVERYWHERE! In her hair, all over her clothes, on the floor, in her lap. It was crazy!
