We've got Swagger

We officially succumbed to the "swagger wagon" trend and bought us a brand new 2011 Toyota Sienna today. It is super nice. It has a V6 engine, carries 8 passengers, has double power sliding doors, a back-up camera, tinted windows, window shades, etc, etc. We are super pumped about it. I said I would never EVER buy a mini-van, but we just got so tired of having to lift these kiddos up so high to get in the car. Not to mention having to open the doors and squeeze an infant carseat out the door when in a crowded parking lot. It just has so much room for traveling too. Plus...I mean it's got swagger.

Here are some pics of our swagger wagon:

2 months old!

Makenna turned 2 months old today! This summer is just flying by! Here are a few cute pics of my sweet baby girl, and here are a few things she is doing at 2 months old:

-She is not as fussy as she was, praise the Lord!

-She LOVES laying on her back and looking around. She especially loves her activity mat and the fun blinky sun that plays music!

-She has begun cooing, which I LOVE!

-She enjoys when anybody talks to her, but especially Kailey!

-She is sleeping in her own room now, but in her bassinet still.

-Last night she slept for 5 hours straight, which she does occasionally, but usually she sleeps around 3-4 hours in a row, during the night.

-She has the sweetest smile!

-She is one sweet angel baby!

Her 2-month doctor's appointment is on Thursday, so I will have her latest stats to post then!

Sea World Trip 2010

Casey and I decided last minute that we wanted to take a trip down to San Antonio to take the girls to Sea World! We love going to San Antonio. We have been 3 times just since moving to Temple! This was our second time to take Kailey to Sea World. We took her two years ago, if you want to take a look at that post to compare the differences in Kailey, here it is!

We ended up getting a Suite at Residence Inn by Marriott for $70 per night on Priceline, which we were pretty happy with. They are normally around $130 or so. It was great because it had a full kitchen, a fold-out sofa bed for Kailey, a King bed for us, and the bathroom was secluded, so we were able to put Makenna's pack 'n play in there by the sinks, so she didn't wake up Kailey during the night! Success!

We arrived on Thursday afternoon. We headed to the Riverwalk and had dinner at my favorite spot, Casa Rio! It was yum-o! Then we decided to ride the Riverboat for a tour, because Casey has never ridden one, even though we have been so many times! After the boat ride we walked over to Rainforest Cafe for dessert.

On Friday, we spent the day at Sea World. I LOVE Sea World! This was the last year that Kailey could get in for free, so we decided to take advantage. She loved the dolphins, penguins, and Shamu (or "Shampoo" as she calls him) the best. (I posted two videos on facebook of her with the dolphins and her the first time she saw Shamu, if you are interested!)

We had a fabulous day. It was raining on and off, so it wasn't too hot. We however were exhausted by the time we left, as you can see! (This is probably my favorite picture from the whole trip!)

On Saturday we ate breakfast at Krispy Kreme (yummy!) and then just hung out at the hotel til around noon. Then we headed over to Chris Madrid's, which if you have never eaten there, DO IT next time you are there! His burgers are THE BEST EVER! We then drove to San Marcos to do a little shopping. It was a great trip.

(As always, there are way more pics on Facebook, if you want to see more!)

The aftermath has not been so great, though. Kailey is NUTSO in the head. But, we put her to bed at 7:30, and hopefully the problem will be rectified soon!

It's Cow Day again!

We have gone to Chick-Fil-A Cow Appreciation Day for the past 3 summers. It has become a fun little tradition of ours! Here are some pics of our "herd" from today!

Here are some pics from our very first cowday, in 2008:

I have no idea what happened to the pictures from last summer, but you get the idea!

4th of July Weekend

We spent 4th of July weekend in Kingwood with my parents, and sister Emily. We had a relaxing fun time. When we arrived on Friday afternoon, the storms from Hurricane Alex were dropping buckets of rain on Houston! We decided to go ahead and take Kailey to her first movie, Toy story 3. She had a great time, but she would NOT sit still, so we probably won't do that again for awhile!

On Saturday morning, the rain held off long enough for us to go to the 4th of July parade. It was 2 HOURS LONG! It was insane. It was SO humid and hot. Once we were there, we were trapped, so Casey ended up sitting in the car with Makenna so she could stay cool. Yuck!

The parade was so long, that this old fire truck broke down right in front of us, blocking our view! It was crazy!

On Saturday afternoon, Casey and I went downtown to Yia Yia Mary's (greek food...YUM!) and to get some Sprinkles cupcakes. They were yummy, but only a couple of them were spectacular (chocolate peanut butter and key lime were my faves!). The others were just normal cupcakes! Definitely not worth what we paid for them!

We also got to visit my friend Jenn and her new baby, Nick!

On Sunday we had BBQ for lunch, and spent a lot of time in the pool! Kailey has graduated to using floaties and a real tube!

That afternoon we made 4th of July cupcakes.

We also attempted some family pictures!

That night we went to the fireworks. Kailey was scared they were falling on her, even though it doesn't really look like it in these pics! My mom kept having to tell her they were far away so she wouldn't be scared.

On the way home from Houston we stopped and ate at Panda Express. Kailey wanted to take her picture with the giant "pana bear".

It was a good trip!

Just as a comparison, here are our past 2 4th of July pics. Kailey has really grown!
