Kailey's Big Girl Room

On Saturday we went down to Ikea to pick up the dresser for the new baby's room. While we were there, we also found a cute thing to help organize Kailey's toys. So, we spent the rest of the day transforming her room from a baby's room, to a toddler room, for the most part. She still has a changing table, for obvious reasons, but we moved the rocker into the baby's room. We are still rocking her in it, but that is fine with me! I wasn't quite ready to let that go. I may never let it go, actually. Anyway, here are a few pics of the transformation.

Finger Painting Fun

On Friday night, we were having a typical two-year old tantrum night. Kailey has been in pretty bad moods lately. Not sure if it is from not getting good naps, or just because she is two. Anyway, we were really trying to find something to satisfy her just to keep our sanity! Casey's mom got Kailey some finger paints for Christmas, and they seemed to do the trick! She loved them! She loves anything having to do with art. Here are some pics of her enjoying herself!

A blog award

My friend Leslie nominated me for the Beautiful Blogger Award. Leslie is one of my many roomies from college! (And probably my most favorite one..but don't tell the others!)

So, the rules are
Thank the person who nominated you for this award.--Thanks, Leslie!
Copy the award & place it on your blog.
Link to the person who nominated you for this award.
Tell us 7 interesting things about yourself.
Nominate 7 bloggers
Post links to the 7 blogs you nominate.

1. I turned the big 28 yesterday. Woo hoo!

2. I have narrowed the baby names down to 3 names for the first name and 2 for the middle name.

3. I have chosen my baby bedding for the little girl inside of me. Here is a pic:

4. I have a major phone phobia. I hate talking on the phone. Mainly I hate calling people...I'm always afraid they won't know who I am or that it will be awkward. So if I don't call you, it isn't because I don't love you, it's because I have a phobia.

5. I am a reality show junkie. I watch pretty much all of them.

6. Sometimes I get lonely (especially since my friend Erin moved away) because Casey and I always move around so much we never get to keep good friends for long. :( I miss all of you!

7. I love Vera Bradly, and my favorite pattern currently is Purple Punch:

Here are the people I nominate:

1. Melissa
2. Jenn
3. Ashley
4. Erin
5. Michelle
6. Kenya
7. Casey (He is more of a Handsome blogger though!)

Big-Girl Bed

We decided to go ahead and change Kailey's crib, into her toddler bed this past Tuesday night. She has done really well with it so far, and hasn't even tried to escape! She gets up from bed and from her nap and plays in her room, but doesn't wake up early, and doesn't open her door to come find us. She is such a good transitioner with everything, that I am afraid for the difficulties ahead with this new baby! Here is a pic of her bed, and of her enjoying her "Big guh bed"!

Halfway Mark

I haven't been posting many preggo pics of myself, here or on facebook. Probably because I look like the good-year blimp! But, since I was at the halfway mark, I decided to take a pic and post it. This was taken about a week ago. I will be 22 weeks this Wednesday, which is crazy hard to believe! Things are going well so far! I am very thankful! Here are some pics, and yes I will be doubling in size!

Christmas 2009

We spent the last week traveling between our house, Shreveport, LA (Casey's parents' house), and Kingwood, TX (My parents' house). It was a long week, but lots of fun, and we all enjoyed spending time with our families.

Here are some pics from our family Christmas, that we had before we left. Kailey got a magna-doodle, an ornament, an elmo book and music player, sesame street board books, and a color-by-number stuffed elephant. Casey's big gift was his new I-touch, and my big gift was my new Ugg boots, which I LOVE!:

On the 21st, we left for Shreveport, to spend a few days with Casey's family. We went to Nachitoches, LA to see the Christmas lights, ate a yummy cajun dinner, and rode in a horse carriage. On Christmas Eve, we opened gifts. Kailey's big gift was a new baby doll and highchair. She is really sweet with the baby, which is hopefully signs of things to come!

On Christmas Eve, we left for Kingwood, TX, to spend a few days with my family celebrating Christmas. Kailey's big gifts there included a grocery cart, and a Little People house and SUV.
